So, Cornwall, December...
1) it must have been very very late, an hour past bedtime at least
-
2) - (for all the world's little children, were fast fast asleep)
-
3) - but down in the kitchen
-
4) - while the children dreamed
-
5) - while the grown-ups talked and watched tv (and whoopsadaisy, monet dead)
-
6) - the moon came in to the kitchen
-
7) - (or so it seemed)
-
8) - and the stars and clouds, all come to see
-
9) - the fridge door open
-
10) - and there in the light
-
11) - a banana-split, come suddenly to life
-
12) - (while cornwall sleeps)
-
13) - whoppee, cried zip, i'm alive, i'm alive
-
14) - ...
-
15) - and cherry in pigtails bounced upon a shelf
-
16) - while singing, oh but aren't i pretty, aren't i sweet
-
17) - ...
-
18) - but splodge was miserable....
-
19) - ...
-
20) - and i no longer care
-
21) - thinking, wouldn't this planet and dark december decked in christmas lights be nicer, sans germans?
-
22) - without people probably
-
23) - without me probably
-
24) - oh well
-
25) - another day
-
26) - remembering that time back when i was fecking the blower's daughter
-
27) - and drunk again, sober again, running like i'm nine again, dreamy dream dreaming... a summer's day
-
28) - up bright and early and out the backdoor, running already, swerving already, to football in the park
-
29) - to hell with it he says, off with these christmas lights, gimme some dark
-
30) - i got this big box here he says, still in its christmas wrapping
-
31) - i know what's inside it he says... it's a will-to-live machine, batteries not included
& it's hello to...
