i'd at one point traced the birth a neo-noir back to the second-cut version a bladerunner, the one wherein one wonders whether or not decker's a skinjob, cuz the movie don't never say. the whole idea, and this is pretty textbook, intro to film theory, i just go to class and watch movies and talk bullshit re: hammet and low-key lighting (it's the fucking key-to-fill ratio, and you idiots have it inverted ...but i digress)
