Sellers excels in Kubrick's cold war masterpiece which captures the
fear, paranoia and surrealism of the era. Totally set in the war room, at
Burpleson Air Force Base and on board Major Kong's B-52 the world laughs
whilst the world is doomed. Turgidson calls
10-20 million dead acceptable and when the doomsday device is activated
lobbies the president, Merkin Muffley, for funds so that the Soviets don't
create a mineshaft gap. If it were today, I think General Ripper would turn
to Viagra first before launching a pre-emptive strike on the Soviets. The
