Lumiére and Company (1995)

blah blah blah

Zhang Yimou
Zhang's piece is set on the Great Wall, to (as far as I can tell, solely) reaffirm his masculinity. A man and a woman dressed in traditional dress play some traditional music, then they clunkily change clothes, pick up an electric guitar and play some crappy rock. Like, crappier than Puddle of Crap, which is pretty damn crappy. Potentially a bigger waste of time than the "Is cinema dead?" "No, cinema isn't dead, that would ruin my livelihood" interviews they run throughout to make you wait for the David Lynch piece.
